The voices against newly-elected President Trump are multiplying and getting bolder. Not only do we have ex-president Obama, without a doubt one of the most prolific mass murderers in recent US history, calling for the people to continue their protests to “protect democracy and American values”, there’s also George Soros, billionaire “kingmaker” and protagonist of many a “colour revolution” pulling out all the stops and sparing no expense in financing these so called “spontaneous protests” throughout the world against the lawfully elected President of the US; further ex Pentagon officials are openly calling for his overthrow by the military. The European ruling elite, obviously taking their cue from the same source are openly defying what they had traditionally accepted as “the leader of the free world”… their leader.
European magazines are blatantly calling for his assassination without fear of repercussions for such a criminal suggestion.
Someone’s interests have obviously been harmed by Trump’s unexpected victory over the establishment’s darling and they are not prepared to wait it out for four years until they have another chance to replace him with their chosen candidate.
Trump is a coarse man with the charm of a porcupine, but he stands up to the system, at least so far. He may make the wrong choices but at least they are his choices and not dictated to him by those who are fighting him tooth and nail. After all, isn’t that why the American public voted him into power to do?
Whatever happens to Trump in the very near future, the US will never be the same again. Whether he survives a full term, or he is “stopped”, one way or another, the schism created by his election will only grow.
The minute I catch myself agreeing with the views promoted by the corporate media, is the minute I realise I am on the wrong track.
Not too long ago you hardly encountered Facebook “activists” parroting MSM positions and that corrupt institution was quickly being ignored as a lying, guided “weapon of the establishment”; Trump’s election has brought it back to life with so many people being influenced by and agreeing to what they are being served by it.
Trump may turn out to be just another US president of the kind that we have gotten used to over the years. If he does, we will continue to express our opposition to the evil US Empire as we had been doing all along; but it will not be based on what the MSM tells us to believe. We know that cannot be trusted.
“Greece wishes for tranquillity and peace among the countries in our region. We are not interested in bullying or strife. They [Turkey] must, though, understand that Eastern-type Cowboy behaviour will not be tolerated by Greece.”
The Greek Defence Minister was addressing the issue of the ever increasing violations of Greek airspace and territorial waters by Turkey’s air force and navy, on a daily basis, and the constant claims by that country’s political establishment of “Grey Zones” in the Aegean Sea.
There is indeed an agreement signed by the two countries on the demilitarisation of some Greek Islands in the Aegean, but that agreement cannot possibly be adhered to if these very Islands are being threatened with an invasion by Turkey. Any militarisation of these Islands is not intended to be aggressive in nature, but to ensure that they are defended against the often voiced threats of invasion. Continue reading “ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ!”
The channelling of Muslim migrants, be they refugees or just people from Muslim countries looking for a better way of life in Europe, by Turkey to the Greek Islands, is not a new idea. It was discussed by successive Turkish governments long before Syria and Iraq were targeted by the West for destruction. Long before the refugee flows flooded Europe.
“We don’t have to invade the Greek Islands to occupy them, all we have to do is send over enough Muslim immigrants and then we can sail in wearing nothing more than our swim-suits and take them over.” Boasted former Turkish President Turgut Ozal in the late 1980s.
After the substantial initial intake of refugees and immigrants by Western European countries, succumbing to internal political pressure they all began closing their borders to them. Even non-EU countries bordering Greece received EU funds to put up barbed wire fences to prevent these human flows from leaving Greece and crossing borders to more affluent European countries. They have in effect been trapped in Greece; a country that is having trouble coping with the needs of its own citizens after years of inhuman austerity measures imposed on it by the wealthy western European states.
The flow of Muslim immigrants to the Greek Islands, which are impossible to fence-off with barbed wire, has not stopped. On any given day, boat-loads of these people arrive on Greek shores and they are no longer Syrian refugees, but they are Muslim. One such boat that recently landed on Lesbos contained 48 souls; only one of those 48 was Syrian; the rest were African and Asian.
The Islands are inundated and the Greek government cannot lighten their load quickly enough to keep up with new arrivals.
Some European political animals believe they have the solution to this particular problem that Greece is facing. “Shoot them” or “Throw them back in the water” are just two suggestions that are coming out of the mouths of “civilised” Europeans.

We have, most of us anyway, in the past expressed our dissatisfaction and concern about both NATO and the EU, two very powerful organisations that are not governed by democratic principles, not accountable to the people of Europe but that very much affect our well-being , even our continued existence on this continent.
In the case of NATO, we have a military Organisation that was created in the forties, primarily by the US, to counter whatever threat was posed by the former Soviet Union and the countries of the Warsaw Pact, neither of which now exist as both collapsed more than a quarter century ago. NATO is not a “defence mechanism” as has been claimed, but a very aggressive, intimidating tool of the West to promote the often dubious goals of the “ruling elite”.

The last US elections have without a doubt achieved one important “goal”.
They have divided the American people! No matter how many times you state that you are not a supporter of Trump, unless you unleash outright criticism of what he has done or some people feel certain he will do in the future, you will be branded a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, a rightist, a Trumpist…
What some people fail to realise is that this new “revolution” they suddenly discovered, a “revolution” that is not against the bombing of innocent people around the world, but against more mundane things, is not theirs at all. It is fuelled and financed by others who have much to gain from this split of the populace.

Let all those proponents of “Open Borders” take down the fences surrounding their property, let them remove the locks from their front doors and then come preach to us on the merits of their chosen ideology.
Although things may sound good in theory, especially if you are looking at it from the safety of your distant home with its picket fence and the double locks on your doors, it is not quite the same when it is happening to you and yours.
Some of us who have experienced invasions; who have seen everything we had worked for over a lifetime taken from us overnight and have been turned into refugees running for our very lives; we bring first-hand experience to what we say; this is not an ideology that we have adopted one night because we’ve read about it and liked that idea.
I have been a refugee, still classified as one; my grandmother was a refugee sixty years before me; I was born and raised in a part of the world that is constantly in turmoil, a part of the world foreign powers have always coveted and repeatedly brought strife to. Our concern here is not that we may be mugged when we go out the house at night. Our concern is that the little that has been left to us will be taken away too. All of it and leave us with nothing to rebuild on.

Did you know that the move by Trump to forbid the entry into the country by Muslims from seven countries is merely the enactment of «the Visa Waiver Program and Terrorist Travel Protection Act of 2015». An Act that was put forward by the Obama Administration? In fact the “seven countries” are not Trump’s inspiration; they are the seven countries mentioned in the Act approved by Obama.
Did you also know that the Obama Administration suspended the entry, into the US, of refugees from Iraq for six months in 2011?
Perhaps you did not, because the MSM had no objection to anything Obama was doing and did not guide you by the hand on what to condemn and demonstrate against…. as it is very much doing now.
Nobody says you should love Trump, but open your eyes and see who it is that is leading you into this “revolution”.
It has been said by some friends that I am “a little pro-Russian and somewhat anti-West”.
I have seen the policies of both and have developed a bias. I am not an idol-worshipper of any kind and although I consider Putin to be the best President Russia has had since the collapse of the Soviet Union, I don’t lose sight of the fact that he is nothing more than a public servant, just like all of our “leaders”, placed in that position to do their best for the “Demos” (the people). I would say that judging by Putin’s popularity in his own country, the Russian people are generally satisfied with the job he’s done so far.
Now, getting back to the antipathy I feel toward Western governments and their policies. That is based on years of first hand experience and of witnessing the underhanded ways they have treated countries and peoples (so many countries and so many peoples) all over the world that just happened to be too weak to defend themselves, either militarily, politically or economically.

Remember all those promises made by the west to the people of Ukraine if they would only ditch their Russian neighbours, allies and friends that provided them with heavily discounted gas for those cold winters and for their industrial needs, that bought everything the Ukrainians wanted to export, that loaned them billions at low interest rates and allowed them to cross into their country without the hassle of complicated and time consuming visa procedures?
